How it works
Every way to earn points on The Board, and the rules. Free all season.
The Board is a free fan leaderboard for VCU women’s basketball. You earn points for showing up and getting involved. Every action is worth a set number of points, and no points depend on a game’s result.
Ways to earn
- Take the shot: 1,000. This is how you join. Flick the ball at the hoop, make it, then save your points with your email and a username. Miss and you shoot again.
- Check in at a home game: 3,000. At the Siegel Center, open The Board and tap Check in. Your phone shares its location once so we can confirm you’re at the arena. Check-in opens 30 minutes before tip and closes 3 hours after. One per game.
- Home streak: up to 5,000 a game. Check in at home games in a row and each check-in adds a bonus: 1,000 at your second straight game, 1,500 at your third, and 500 more each game after that.
- Promo nights: double points. At home games marked as promo nights, check-in and streak points count double.
- Bring a friend: 2,000. Share your personal link from your account page. When a friend joins through it and confirms their email, you get 2,000.
- Game night together: 1,500 each. When you and a friend you brought, or who brought you, both check in at the same home game.
- Share a page: 250. Share your personal link or a player profile. Each person who opens your link earns you 250, once per person per day, up to 1,000 a day.
- Meet the Team: 1,500. Open every player profile while you’re signed in. One time.
The rules
- Free. No entry fee, no purchase, no money at any stage.
- No prizes. You can’t redeem, exchange or transfer points. They count on the leaderboard and nowhere else.
- Only things you do earn points. None depend on a score, a stat or a result, and none are random.
- VCU student-athletes, coaches and athletics staff can’t take part.
- One account per person. Faked check-ins or throwaway accounts can cost you your points or your account.
- Check-in opens once VCU announces a game’s tip time. Road games, postponed games and cancelled games don’t break a streak.
